About the Artist

Hi, I’m Megan, the artist behind Megan Melba Design.

I was born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida, where the beach was truly my playground. Just steps from home, I spent countless days collecting shells and became completely obsessed with the colors of the ocean...something that still inspires every piece I create today.

I’m also the daughter of an incredibly talented interior designer, and growing up around her shaped me more than anything. I spent much of my free time at her store, watching her work, studying her style, and learning what it meant to create something beautiful while building a business at the same time. She continues to be my biggest inspiration. Art and design have always felt natural to me; it’s simply part of who I am.

I recently began creating shell art as a creative outlet during a very difficult time after my husband experienced a serious health surgery in 2025. Now, living with my own family in a small cottage by the beach, we spend much of our time walking along the shore, collecting beach treasures, and soaking in the calm beauty of the coast. Creating became a way for me to slow down, focus on something positive, and begin believing in myself in a way I never had before.

Developing and finding my passion has taken years of dreaming...knowing something was growing inside me. When I was at my lowest, that's when Jelly Shells was born. A playful escape that gave me hope, balance, and motivation to push forward even when life felt unsure. Every piece I create is inspired by the beauty & fun of coastal beach living. I carefully select each shell, imagine the design, and paint each one by hand. Finding myself again in art.

Megan Melba Design is about more than coastal art. It’s about believing in yourself…through creating, practicing affirmations, and taking time for your passions, knowing that confidence can be built slowly and that it’s okay to grow at your own pace. That message became very personal to me, and it’s something I hope women feel when they bring my work into their homes.

Each piece is completely handmade and one of a kind, created with intention, patience, and a love for detail & beautiful design.
